Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is being widely used for making calls
over the Internet (VOIP). SIP is a signaling protocol for Internet
conferencing, telephony, presence, events notification and instant
messaging. Java has a number of tools for developing SIP-based
applications. In this presentation, some of these tools will be
introduced including JAIN-SIP, SIP Servlets and SLEE. The authors will
also demonstrate some of the the open source tools they have created
including (1) SipUnit - JUNIT-based SIP unit testing environment and
(2)
Jiplet (Java SIP Servlet) - a SIP development and runtime environment
integrated into JBOSS.
Amit Chatterjee has been developing software for the last 17 years and
has been a Java developer for many years. He currently works for
Tekelec
at Morrsiville where he develops telecommunications applications using
Java and J2EE. He is also the team lead for two open-source projects:
(1) Ace Operator - web-based Contact Center and (2) Jiplet Container -
servlet-like development environment for server-side SIP applications.
Becky McElroy has been developing software for the last 21 years and
has
been a Java developer for many years. She currently works for Tekelec
at
Morrsiville where she develops telecommunications applications using
Java and J2EE. She is also the team lead for the open-source project,
SipUnit, SIP test tool and is also regular contributor to other
opens-source projects.

Turn left into Nortel site (you should see a pond to your right)
Proceed aprox. 200 yards to the first right turn into parking lot.
Park near center of near side of building
Enter through guard station near BIG YELLOW WALL.

From Durham:
Proceed East on I40 to Davis Drive (Exit 280)
