Jim Duggan, a vice president and resarch area director for the Gartner Group, will share with us some of the Gartner Groups's projections for the IT industry as a whole and on Java/.Net futures and Open Source in particular.
Jim Duggan is a vice president and research area director for Gartner. Mr. Duggan is Research Team Lead on application development. In addition to coordinating overall research positions, he covers tools and methodologies for analysis, design, quality assurance, and software configuration and change management. He also does research on component-based development and the maintenance and evolution of legacy application portfolios. Jim has been with Gartner since 1997.
Prior to joining Gartner , Mr. Duggan was an analyst of institutional equities for First Albany, a financial services firm. He also has held technical and management positions at end-user organizations (Owens-Corning, USAF), and at IT vendors (IBM, Seer Technologies).
Mr. Duggan earned a bachelor's degree in engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a master of science degree in engineering from Princeton University. He is a registered professional engineer.

Take I-40 West toward Durham and Chapel Hill. You will enter RTP. Where I-40 splits,
bear right onto the Durham Freeway North (Highway 147). Take the Cornwallis Road Exit.
At the end of the exit ramp, bear right - cross back over the Freeway. MCNC is located
approximately 3/4 mile on the right.
From Durham:
Get on the Durham Freeway South (Highway 147). Take the Cornwallis Road exit.
At the end of the ramp, bear right - MCNC is approximately 3/4 mile on right.
