Triangle Java Users Group Presents:

Creating Web Services with BEA WebLogic Workshop and Together ControlCenter

presented by Chris Garrett of TogetherSoft Corporation

Monday, December 16, 2002
6:30 PM - 9:00 PM
MCNC Auditorium
3021 Cornwallis Road
Research Triangle Park, North Carolina

Abstract:
The press's enthusiasm for web services is due to their promise to greatly reduce technological and geographical barriers between enterprise software. Unfortunately, the reality has been that shifting standards and a large knowledge barrier have prevented enterprise-class web services from entering mainstream development practices. To counteract this, BEA created WebLogic Workshop. There are three parts to WebLogic Workshop: 1) a set of standards for developing Java-based web services, 2) a runtime environment that compiles and deploys web services and 3) a simple development environment for web services.

The TogetherSoft WebLogicWorkshop Accelerator was developed to offer a full-fledged development environment based on the standards created by BEA, as well as the runtime component of WebLogic Workshop. With this integration, developers can take advantage of our full lifecycle support, including requirements management, source code control, UML modeling, and quality control features.

The presentation will cover an overview of Together ControlCenter, BEA WebLogic Workshop, and a demonstration of the WebLogic Workshop Accelerator.

About Speaker:

Chris came to TogetherSoft from WebGain, where he worked on the TopLink and Application Composer product teams. Currently he is the manager of the TogetherSoft integration center.
