Abstract:

This presentation is about how to create and deploy Java applications running inside an object-relational database server, Informix Dynamic Server (IDS). Informix was one of the first database management systems to add this functionality in the 90's. After a brief coverage of the Java environment setup in IDS, we show how to build a Java UDR application. Advantages and disadvantages of this method, as well as a step by step approach are covered.
